The Mean
The Aristotelian golden mean — the center between blind certainty and constant doubt.
Placeholder entry. The Mean is the philosophical core of everything cataloged in this Compendium: the idea that stability isn't found at either extreme — not in a certainty so total it stops questioning itself, and not in a doubt so total it dissolves under anyone else's opinion — but in the deliberately held center between them.
It's the reason the whole project is named after an architectural keystone rather than a wall or a foundation. A wall can lean. A keystone can't — not without the whole arch failing.
